About Traditional Facelifts
A traditional facelift (also known as a rhytidectomy) is a procedure that’s designed to rejuvenate the skin and smooth out any wrinkles. A popular choice for both men and women for decades, it can take up to 4 hours to perform.
Conducted under general anesthesia, along with tightening the skin (and removing any excess skin), the muscles and ligaments are also tightened. The technique that Dr. Farole uses, however, will depend on the result you want to achieve.
An alternative to a traditional facelift, that’s less invasive is a mini facelift. Similarly designed to correct signs of aging (typically in the earlier stages), it produces more natural results and targets the face, jawline and neck.
About Liquid Facelifts
Another popular option is a liquid facelift. A minimally invasive procedure that takes as little as 30 minutes, similarly to a facelift it’s designed to significantly reduce the signs of aging.
However, along with reducing any wrinkles or sagging of the skin, it differs from a facelift as it requires the use of either dermal fillers to plump up the skin and add volume or Botox to achieve a smoother complexion. As the fillers/Botox are injected, no incisions will have to be made.
Benefits of a Facelift
Although the results differ person to person, the primary benefit of a traditional facelift is that you’ll be able to see an improvement in the moment the surgery is completed. Even though it may take up to 4 weeks for the swelling to go down, the results of a facelift are permanent – even though maintenance may be required throughout the years.

- Those who don’t have a history of blood clotting.
- Healthy individuals who do not have diabetes, cardiovascular disease or sensitivity to Botox or Dermal Fillers.
