Cheek Implants

Cheek implants or cheek augmentations are a surgical procedure aimed at creating a more balanced facial appearance. Patients who have lost mid-face volume over time may benefit from implants. Cheek implants can be completely customized to fit your individual needs and desires.

How Does It Work?

Before your implant procedure, Dr. Farole will perform a facial evaluation and talk to you about your ultimate goals. At that point, he’ll go over all of your available options in-depth. Cheek implants come in a wide variety of shapes, styles, and materials. Looking through a series of before and after photos can also help you through the decision-making process.

When performed alone, cheek implants are most commonly inserted through an incision inside the mouth. If other facial enhancement procedures are being done, implants may be inserted through already open incisions.

After your procedure, you may experience minor pain, bruising, and swelling. Most patients are able to return to work in as little as one-week. However, swelling can take a month or more to completely subside.

Is It Right for Me?

You might be a good candidate for cheek implants if you are unhappy with the balance of your overall face. Patients who would like to correct sunken cheeks and restore lost volume can benefit from the procedure.

Healthy adults with realistic expectations about what implants can do for them are more likely to be satisfied with the results. You may not be a good candidate for cheek implants if you’re unable to undergo general anesthesia.

How Long Does It Take to See Results?

You will notice improved facial volume immediately following your procedure. However, initial results can be skewed due to swelling. The majority of swelling will dissipate in the first two weeks after your procedure. It can take a month or more to see final results.

Implants are an indefinite solution for cheek augmentations. After your implants are inserted, the contour of your face will be enhanced for a lifetime to come.
