Dermal fillers are a minimally-invasive treatment that provides immediate, dramatic results without the downtime associated with surgical procedures. With a wide variety of fillers on the market, patients can correct numerous cosmetic concerns. Dermal Fillers can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, remove wrinkles, and improve the appearance of recessed scars.
How Does It Work?
During your initial consultation, Dr. Farole will complete a full facial analysis. He’ll also talk to you about your end-goals before suggesting a product that may be right for you. Some fillers are designed for a specific facial area, while others are made to give you results that are as subtle or dramatic as you’d like.
In most cases, a topical numbing cream will be applied to keep you as comfortable as possible during your treatment. Injection sites are marked before Dr. Farole uses an ultra-fine needle to administer the filler. The procedure can be done in a simple in-office visit and typically last no longer than 30-minutes.
There is no downtime associated with injectable dermal fillers. Rubbing or massaging your face should be avoided for the first 48-hours as the filler begins to set. Some patients report tingling, redness, or slight swelling at the injection site after the procedure.
Types of Dermal Fillers
At our Oral and Facial Surgical Center, we offer a wide variety of dermal fillers to help you achieve your individual needs. Below, we’ve listed a few of our favorites to help you start the decision-making process.
Juvederm Product Line
Juvederm injectables are a hyaluronic acid based filler. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body and helps your body retain moisture as well as adding volume. The great thing about Juvederm products is that they’re also lidocaine-enhanced to minimize any discomfort. Results from most Juvederm products can last anywhere from 12-18 months.
Depending on your desired outcome, there are multiple Juvederm filler options available. Patients seeking to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles may want to consider a filler such as Vollure. Juvederm’s Volbella is best used to give lips a softer, more contoured appearance. Voluma is a more robust injectable that can add mid-face volume to the cheeks.
Radiesse is a great option for patients who want to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles in the lower face. The filler works to stimulate your body’s own natural healing process and increase collagen production. Smile lines, marionette lines, chin lines, and lines around the corners of the mouth can be minimized for upwards of a year or more.
Belotero is a hyaluronic acid filler designed to reduce the depth of fine lines and wrinkles. The versatile gel injectable is ideal for everything from treating deep nasal folds to delicate etched-in smile lines. Belotero gives you a natural look and feel for 6-months or more.
Versa is a multi-purpose hyaluronic dermal filler. The majority of patients opt for Versa during a lip augmentation to give them fuller, more natural-looking lips.
