How Many RF Microneedling Treatments Are Needed?

RF or radiofrequency microneedling is a popular cosmetic treatment that offers exceptional, long-term results. This treatment is a non-surgical alternative to a traditional facelift and ensures patients end up with radiant, more youthful-looking facial skin.

Dr. Anthony Farole, one of Pennsylvania’s most prominent board-certified facial cosmetic surgeons, offers RF microneedling at his premier practice in Bala Cynwyd.

What Is RF Microneedling?

RF microneedling is a facial cosmetic treatment that uses tiny needles and radiofrequency waves to restore the skin’s natural glow and treat damaged skin tissue. The treatment is a ‘controlled’ skin injury that triggers the production of new collagen, elastin, and capillaries.

Dr. Farole uses innovative INTRAcel PRO–RF microneedle (FRM™) technology as part of his RF microneedling treatments. INTRAcel PRO–RF microneedle (FRM™) is a handheld device that creates tiny microchannels in the superficial skin layers.

It also uses radiofrequency waves to target deeper skin layers, making it an ideal cosmetic treatment option for patients that don’t want invasive surgical alternatives like conventional facelifts.

RF microneedling can treat cosmetic skin complaints such as acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, and hyperpigmentation. It can also target issues like scars resulting from injuries, large pores, melasma, and hyperhidrosis.

Radiofrequency Microneedling Treatment Sessions

Dr. Farole is only one of three cosmetic surgeons that provide INTRAcel PRO–RF microneedle (FRM™) treatments in the whole of Pennsylvania, and it’s now one of his most sought-after cosmetic treatments.

One question you may undoubtedly have in your mind is, how many RF microneedling treatments will you need to address your facial skin concerns? As you can imagine, each patient has different requirements, and each treatment gets tailored to each patient.

Some patients with slight cosmetic issues may only require one RF microneedling treatment, whereas others with additional concerns to address might need up to three sessions, spaced around six to eight weeks apart.

All patients will see an initial improvement in their skin tone and texture around three to four weeks from their treatment session and gradual improvement over six to eight months.

The results of radiofrequency microneedling treatments typically last upwards of one to two years; you may need maintenance treatment sessions as your skin ages.

Benefits of RF Microneedling

RF microneedling using the INTRAcel PRO–RF microneedle (FRM™) device is a non-surgical treatment that offers excellent results for treating facial cosmetic concerns. It’s a minimally-invasive solution that only takes 40 minutes per treatment session.

Recovery time is minimal, with patients only needing to avoid makeup for at least 24 hours after their treatment and limiting sun exposure for around two weeks. RF microneedling can treat various facial skin issues, from acne scars and large pores to melasma and fine lines.

Who Is a Candidate for RF Microneedling Treatments?

You could be a candidate for RF or radiofrequency microneedling if you’re an adult with facial cosmetic concerns that you haven’t resolved by other means.

You may also be a candidate if you’d prefer not to have a surgical solution for addressing your facial skin issues.
