How Does a CO2 Laser Work?

Laser skin resurfacing offers an excellent tool for anyone looking for ways to restore smoother, more youthful-looking skin. A fractional CO2 laser provides intensive skin resurfacing for an improvement in lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and other concerns.

What is a CO2 Laser?

We use the AcuPulse™ CO2 laser for skin resurfacing. This highly customizable system features eleven settings to maximize your results and keep you as comfortable as possible. AcuPulse™ is a fractional laser that treats some areas of the skin while leaving other areas untouched. These healthy areas of skin speed up the healing process. A fractional laser requires less recovery time than a laser that treats the skin’s entire surface.

How Does a CO2 Laser Work?

The energy from the AcuPulse™ CO2 laser creates areas of controlled micro-damage in the skin. The surrounding skin cells immediately begin a healing and repair process that brings new, healthy cells to the surface. The laser energy also triggers the development of collagen. This vital protein gives skin support and firmness, so by adding new collagen, this treatment improves skin laxity and smooths lines and wrinkles.

What Can CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing Treat?

You can see significant improvements in many facial skin concerns with AcuPulse™ CO2 laser treatment. Old, damaged, hyperpigmented cells are shed as new cells rise to the surface. The revealed surface looks brighter and more even-toned. AcuPulse™ can treat:

  • Acne scars
  • Benign skin tumors
  • Warts
  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Dullness
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Sun damage
  • Age spots
  • Skin laxity

AcuPulse™ even has a setting that allows it to be used on the eyelids. The customizable settings mean the laser can target your skin concerns at the correct depth to achieve maximum results with minimum recovery time.

What Results Will I See With a CO2 Laser?

You will see results after one treatment, although some people have a second treatment if needed to achieve their goals. Your skin tone, texture, and firmness will improve within about six weeks and will continue to develop for several months. Your results can last for several years.

What is Recovery Like After CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Your skin may look red for one to three weeks after treatment. You can return to most activities after three to seven days. We will recommend that you avoid sun exposure and use dermatologist-recommended sun protection at all times while healing.

Am I a Good Candidate for CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing?

If you have signs of aging and other skin concerns, you may be a good candidate for laser skin resurfacing with AcuPulse™. We do not recommend CO2 laser treatment for you if you have an active skin infection, take certain medications, or tend to form abnormal scars.

They reassured me that i would be fine and took very good care of me. I felt no pain and the procedure went very smooth. Thank you so much for a job well done!
